Murchison falls are the top feature of Murchison Falls National Park, the conservation area is named after the fall and is one of the world’s most powerful water falls mentioned in the 7 wonders of the world, Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest park situated in the northern Uganda in Nwoya district, it was gazette in the 1926 as a national park protecting the many variety species in the park, it is one of the top hot spot for travelers a must visit in the northern part of Uganda,  it is one of the best places to see the  gig four of the wilderness, it used to be home to the big five however in the early 1900’s the Rhinos went extinct in the national park. Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls will give you a proper view of the falling water into the plunge pool, it is a great way to experience the Nile and get closer to wildlife, it is conducted in the morning and afternoon using a Uganda wildlife authority boat of a private boat from the exclusive camps, from the bottom one can choose to hike to the top of the falls, through the connecting trail right from the bottom. The other cruise is sunset boat trip to the Lake Albert to experience sundowners, for this trip the boat slopes downstream, the albert Delta is famous for the shoe bill stock, it is mostly done in the evening time to watch the sundowners.

There are so many travelers who come to the national park to experience the powerful waterfalls, other park activities include game drives along the northern bank of the river, expect to meet a number of wild animals like the Rothschild’s giraffes, hyenas, African elephants, African buffaloes, to mention a few, these are conducted in the morning time afternoon time and one of the few places to do night game drives.
